Gov. Fintiri Presides Over Maiden Executive Council Meeting, Deliberates on 2020 Budget

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday presided over the maiden state executive council meeting where the twenty twenty budget was presented to the council ahead of its presentation to the State House of Assembly possibly tomorrow Tuesday.

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Doctor Umar Garba disclosed while briefing Government House Correspondents shortly after the meeting which held in the Council Chamber of the Government House, Yola.

Garba explained that the budget of rebirth was presented to the council by the Ministry of Finance and Budget and council members had agreed that the budget is a realistic one that will give Adamawa people a new lease of life.

The Commissioner also said that during the meeting Governor Umaru Fintiri has charged them to take their assignment with all seriousness as his administration has come to make a difference by taking the state to the next level.

On his part, the Commissioner of Finance and Budget Doctor Ishaya John Dabari said the council had reviewed the performance of twenty nineteen budget in terms of revenue and expenditure, performance of each ministry and assessed their level of performance.

Doctor Dabari further said to make the twenty twenty budget more realistic, council had reviewed downward to reflect the realization on ground so that people will get the impact of the present administration.

Contributing, the Commissioner of Education and Human Development Mrs Wibina Jackson revealed that in the twenty twenty budget education will receive the lion share due its prominence and importance to the lives of the people.

Mrs Jackson expressed the hope that the present council will do the needful by the changing the fortunes of the state around better and called for more support to the present administration by the citizenry.

The meeting had in attendance Deputy Governor Chief Cowther Seth, Secretary to the State Government Malam Bashir Ahmad, Chief of Staff Government House Yola, Professor Maxwell Gidado, State Head of Service Doctor Edagar Amos and the twenty four commissioners.
