Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday tasked religious leaders in Adamawa to continue to pray fervently for progress and development as well as peaceful coexistence of the people in the state.
He gave the task when he received Deans and pastors of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria LCCN from seven divisions across the country on a courtesy call in the Government House, Yola.
The Governor thanked them for visit, and their support and prayers to his administration and urged them to maintain the tempo for the best interest of the people and the state.
He told the delegation that his victory at the supreme court is an affirmation of the confidence entrusted in him by the people of Adamawa during the twenty nineteen general elections.
Governor Umaru Fintiri pleaded with religious leaders in Adamawa to show understanding with some of the decisions taken by the present administration which he said were for the best interest of the state.
He wished the LCCN delegation success in their forthcoming annual convention which will take place from forth to eight of this month and assured them security of lives and property throughout the programme.
Earlier in his remark, the leader of the delegation, Dean Reverend Nelson Malau said the visit was to among others recognise and appreciate the leadership style of Governor Umaru Fintiri.
He sympathized with government over the recent Garkida attacks by suspected Boko Haram insurgents and prayed to God to avert future reoccurrence of such an ugly incident.
