Williams has struggle to win a major title since 2018, and has lost in 4 grand slam titles finals. This may be described as a temporary end, but she would have to wait for another major competition to achieve the 24th grand slam title and equal Margaret Court who has won 24 titles.

Former U.S Open Champion, Naomi Osaka earlier defeated first-time grand slam semifinalist Jennifer Brady 7-6 3-6 6-3 in a three sets in what could be described as a thrilling game and another high-quality tussle show between the two.

This sets a final between Naomi Osaka and Victoria Azarenka at the U.S. open.
