The Social Media has gone ablaze since yesterday after Netflix release a promotional for the movie “Cuties” some weeks ago, that is said to have depicts child-sexualization.

The DailyWire in its article on the controversy said:

“The Sundance Film Festival — which honored the film with a directing award — provided a synopsis that didn’t do much to quell the anger. According to Sundance, “Cuties” tells the story of an 11-year-old girl named Amy who, “through an ignited awareness of her burgeoning femininity, propels the group to enthusiastically embrace an increasingly sensual dance routine, sparking the girls’ hope to twerk their way to stardom at a local dance contest.” It is perhaps worth mentioning that Sundance was co-founded by a man who is now in prison for child sexual abuse.”

After the huge backlash, Netflix apologized for an “inappropriate artwork”not for the film. Netflix got rid of the mention of the word “twerking” and replaced with “free-spirited dance crew” with no definite explanation of the later.

The hasgtag #CancelNetflix was used on social media to show dismay for the controversial film or scenes in the film. These are various response to the issue, from film directors to celebrities and political figures.
