Zobe Water Treatment Plant to be Commissioned by President Buhari – Katsina Deputy Governor

Zobe water treatment plant will soon be commission by the President Muhammadu Buhari.

Katsina state Deputy Governor Alhaji Mannir Yakubu said this when he inspected the water treatment plant at zobe Dutsinma.

He said the visit was to assess the level of the progress of the project for onward. commission by the President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Deputy Governor expressed satisfaction with quality of the project and its progress saying that it was hundred percent completed.

According to him the project was sponsored by the Federal Government(Phase 1a &11) while the state Government part is to complete phase 1b, which involves laying pipes to Karofi, K/Soli, Kankia & Charanchi which will be commence soon.

The Managing Director of state Water Board Ibrahim Dasuƙi Abubakar said the water treatment was designed to treat and pump 75 million litres per day but now it treating and pumping 50 million litres due to the problem of poor quality of Power supply.


He said, some areas like Katsina, Dutsinma and environs have already started benefitting from the water being supplied.

According to him the water treatment plant was started for over 25 years but abandoned by the past Governments but the present Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has completed it.

The Deputy Governor
was conducted round for the inspection by the state commissioner for water resources Musa Adamu Funtua and Managing Director water board Ibrahim Dasuƙi.

The Deputy Governor had inspected, Admin block, laboratory, backwashing equipment, compressor room, filter house, treatment section, high lift pumping station and generator room among others.
