The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has finally published the ” Notice of Election” on Monday 28 February 2022. This was after the Chairman of the Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, in a press conference on the 26 of February 2022 released the timetable and Schedule Of activities for the 2023 General Election.
INEC said that in compliance with Section 28 (1) of the Electoral Act 2022, which requires the election umpire to publish the “Notice of Election” in each State of the Federation and the FCT stating the date of the election and the place where the nomination papers are to be delivered; declared that the 2022 general elections will hold accordingly:
Presidential and National Assembly to hold on the 25th of the February 2023 and that of the Governorship and State House of Assembly, on the 11th of March 2022.
