2023 Elections: Numan Federation Should Get It Right in It’s Voting – George Kushi

Domestic Nigeria 2023 Elections Politics

By George Kushi

A lot of things have happened in the past that ,we as a people in Numan federation should adopt a potent political stance that will keep us in good stead in relative terms with other parts of the nation.

For too long have we been kept in the cold as far as political patronage is concerned. Our stance on national issues have always kept us out of trend with the political realities on ground. As a result of our inability to analyze and focus on the good things that we stand to gain, we engage ourselves in a wild goose chase while others urge us to go against the tide.
Unwary of the snare of our supposed “friends”, we end up as the losing side.

This time around we must wise up and pursue our interests independent and avoid being used to further the interest of people that have enjoyed the benefits of APC without inviting us but have now the courage to call on us to team up with them. As a matter of fact, we might have had somethings in common in the past but when it comes to sharing the goodies associated with the APC ,they distanced themselves from us. All those years that the APC held the nation to ransomed, we stayed with the PDP,Atiku Abubakar, the likes of Binos Yaro etc. in what is known as Numan Federation, a federation of independent and fraternal kingdoms.

But today, like in the past, people that don’t value us are in Ernest trying to lure us away into a new alliance in which we have no prominent stakeholders. For long the federation had stood the test of time and had flourished under neglect, unaided and unthought of by high ranking Federal office holders, but now, in broad day light ,we the victims of Federal absence are being wooed to be the arrowhead in a coalition that we have no stakeholders in.

Is it not strange that Numan Federation is the place that Babachir chose to present his new suitor Peter Obi? In his while life has he ever said a word or assisted anyone from the federation? Lo and behold ,today, Numan Federation is the place he wants to showcase his popularity in.

In as much as one would like to oppose a Muslim/Muslim ticket, the underlying interest of our new found suitors like David Babachir continues to baffle many Adamawa South voters. For one ,the fact that the PDP has proved it’s secular creed in governance leaves no one in doubt as to what to expect from Atiku and Okowa.

Today ,we at a crossroads as our ” brothers” that have for long abandoned us are back and are now urging us to leave those that have stood by us. With the oldest educational institutions in the state in Adamawa South, we were denied tertiary institutions. The PDP with Senator Binos Yaro in the upper chamber moved for one, but got no support from our new” friends”. We remember as a people, tutored by our parents and grandparents how they rode bicycles to Hong and Pella and how much they suffered to make us one. Later, their children abandoned us. Jonah Assadugu and Amos Balla( later Yerima Balla) stood like brothers, but all they did shelved out of public view by the same people trying to get us new friends.

The great people of Adamawa State and Adamawa South in particular should not allow anyone to use them in their bid to be politically relevant. For the past twenty years the PDP has been our party. Now that the time has come to once again make us part of the government as t the Federal and state level,we should not allow the personal interest of others sway us from the people we know. Atiku Abubakar has involved our people in his affairs in the past as had all PDP governments at all levels. Are we so ignorant as to accept concepts from those that held us in low esteem to choose for us our friends? All Federal appointments in the past seven years were the exclusive preserve of a chosen people. The wise know for sure that should they pull our people to their side, they will continue to claim relevance and propagate their clannish interest as they have done so far.

When it comes to fighting their enemies ,they invite us as friends, when the battle lingers, they fraternize with the” enemy”. For how long shall they fool us. If you don’t know your position with somebody, keep away from him especially if he poses as a friend near you.

Numan Federation, even after the clawed break voted heavily for Marcus Gundiri who never came around to say thank to the area where he got the highest number of votes. For that mistake the federation suffered neglect.

The division they are trying to create, using religion as an excuse is totally untrue. If they are against a Muslim/Muslim ticket, why can’t they accept a PDP Muslim/ Christian ticket like they did the Buhari/Osinbajo ticket. Why didn’t they reject Buhari when he suggested that everyone should vote for the person that will protect their interest.

The APC has been unfair to all by all measures after eight years of clueless leadership of which they are all culprits.
The PDP on the other hand has proved itself capable of governing the country without religious bias;a and attribute that the nation deserves.

Adamawa South has had it good with Atiku Abubakar, a man that has been subjected to all manner of persecution, the only politician that has uttered no insult to his traducers and has no hand in violent politicking, the gentleman politician and successor of Waziri Ibrahim’s ” politics without bitterness” , the man whose time has come.

Numan Federation, Adamawa and Nigeria as a whole should take note that the idea and person whose time has come cannot be repressed.
Atiku’s time has come. PDP’S time has come. No room should be left for those that only now discovered that they have been taken for a ride should be allowed to mislead us into an adventurous political wilderness and leave us stuck. We know our friends.
Please, leave us alone to the grass-cutters on our farms. We know better than to vote for a ethnically oriented party that will split our votes and facilitate a Muslim/Muslim ticket.

It is very important that the people of Numan Federation pay attention to the fact that Atiku Abubakar as a person from the area there is no way he can do things and forget them. His ability to maintain lasting friendship has been proved by his close association to High Chief of Bachama and Benin kingdom, Chief Raymond Dokpesi who has identified himself with Adamawa state since Bamanga Tukur’s campaign in 1983. Atiku has continued to keep faith with many others like Chief Dokpesi, late Hama Bachama, Asaph Zadok, previous and present traditional rulers ,religious leaders and opinion makers in Adamawa state and beyond and even internationally.

All states are represented in his numerous businesses that offer employment to thousand despite efforts to cripple them. The appearance of DAAR Communications in Adamawa by Raymond Dokpesi was in the spirit of healthy competition that Atiku Abubakar believes in. The PDP as a party has reason to have Atiku whose influence saw the smooth running of public utilities before the skirmish with Obasanjo who was misled by others. It is there for all to see that between 1999 to 2003,things were okay. With the interference of evil forces, things went awry and the economy has been suffering since then.
Now that the wheel of Fortune is spinning in our favor ,the people of Adamawa and Nigeria should brace up for a new upsurge of the economy when the man with magic wand is voted into office. This can be done only if we waive the lies propagated in a bid to bring in a crippled horse and break votes so as to facilitate an APC victory.

Adamawa people, the people of Nigeria should understand the falsehood involve and vote for the man and the party that they have stood by for the past twenty-four years.
