Mastermind of Abuja-Kaduna Train Arrested

The Nigerian Military said it has arrested three terrorists at Damba community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna state, linked to the 2022 Abuja- Kaduna train attack.

In a press briefing by the Defence Media Operations (DMO), one of the arrested terrorists confessed to being one of the masterminds behind the March 28, 2022 Abuja- Kaduna train attack in which at least eight people died and some passengers were held hostage for months before they were rescued by the Nigerian Military.

It can be ralled that in June 2022, 11 of the abductees were released, while in July, 7 more victims, including Sadiq, son of Prof. Ango Abdullahi, chairman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), were freed.

While in August 2, 5 kidnap victims were released and in subsequent days, more abductees secured their freedom.

The remaining kidnapped passengers of the ill-fated train were released by the bandits in October 2022, after 6 months in captivity.
